Officially I feel old. Today is my 25th birthday and that number just seems crazy! I feel very young at heart though so I'm trying not to let the number bother me that much. Today I have to work, but after I'm driving straight to Toronto with Charles to see the bands Korn and Disturbed play live at the Air Canada Centre! I'm so excited! It's funny because Disturbed is one of my favourite (if not my favourite) bands and I get to see them play live on my ACTUAL birthday! On Saturday I will be celebrating with a few friends by going out to dinner. Hope you all have a great weekend! I will be posting my "March Favourites" this weekend!

I've always wanted to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, particularly their lip tars. I looked at swatches online and decided to try out Hush, Memento, Cha Cha and Grandma as they look the most wearable of all the colours.
Memento - soft pink/plum neutral
Cha Cha - creamy, pale tangerine
Grandma - clean and classic true coral
About OCC Lip Tars
Like all of our products, OCC Lip Tar is 100% Vegan and Cruelty-Free, and is also free of parabens and other harsh preservatives. A simple, elegant formula that contains Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E, OCC Lip Tar feels as good on the lips as it looks!
DIRECTIONS: Apply the tiniest bead of Lip Tar with our #009 Angle Brush for complete, opaque coverage, either mixed with other shades or straight out of the tube. Applying too much product can result in feathering/bleeding so remember: a little goes a very, very long way!"
I ended up buying these off of Camera Ready Cosmetics as I was eligable for the Pro discount since I have my own blog! I ended up saving about $1 US per lip tar. The shipping took quite a while to Canada and one of the samples of foundation (i.e., Face Atelier) I received leaked everywhere so I won't be able to review that for you guys anytime soon. I also picked up samples of Cinema Secrets Foundation, Keromask Concealer and Scott Barnes Body Bling. I'm wearing Cinema Secrets today and it photographs quite well and I used Keromask as my concealer and man does that stuff cover EVERYTHING! It is said to even cover tattoos so I decided I'd cover the tattoo I have on my hip and it actually masked it. I'm very impressed and will have a full review soon.
The colour you see in the tube is the colour you are going to get on yours lips. These are VERY pigmented and you only need a tiny amount to get full coverage. These last a while and remind me of a stain since they dry and stick on the lips after a period of time. With this being said, you only need a thin layer for opaque coverage, HOWEVER, a thin layer dries quite fast on the lips so it's handy to keep a clear lip gloss around when wearing these lip colours.
I love Memento, Grandma, and Hush on their own, but can't really see myself wearing Cha Cha without it being mixed with another lip tar or a lip gloss. My favourite combos are Grandma + Hush, Memento + Hush, and Grandma + Cha Cha!

I was playing around with my makeup and trying to decide what I would wear out for my birthday. I decided against the makeup I'm wearing here as I want to look more natural, but I think I will wear this outfit out to dinner with friends! This is my first time using a sample of Cinema Secrets Foundation and Keromask concealer and I really like them both. I didn't set the foundation with powder and it held up nicely. I also used my OCC Lip Tars for the first time. I'm in love! I will have swatches and a full review up soon. Hope you are all having an amazing weekend! I gotta get back to installing our hardwood flooring...fun fun.

Have you seen these necklaces around? I saw a few celebrities wearing them (i.e., Lauren Conrad, Taylor Swift) and decided I wanting to pick one up to remember my initials by since I will be taking on Charles' last name when we marry this July. I purchased the "Large Swirly 3 Initial Pendant" in Gold Vermeil. This pendant retails for $264 US. Shipping cost an additional $36 to Canada. I ended up paying a hair less than $300 with conversion.
I placed my order on March 5th and received it in the mail yesterday, March 25th! Twenty days was pretty good because they estimated it would ship out within 2-4 weeks. I'm so happy that I received this in time for my birthday next week as I will now be wearing this out to my birthday dinner!
I received a card that says enter "BUTTERFLY" upon checkout for 15% off! I'm not sure if will work more than once, so if you are looking into getting something from Jennifer Zeuner, feel free to use the coupon code as I won't be purchasing anything else (not that I don't want to, just that I don't have the money...haha).

I first heard about this moisturizer when watching one of my fave YouTube Beauty Gurus, MakeupByTiffanyD. Tiffany was raving about this moisturizer and since she has very similar taste in beauty products as I do, I thought I would give it a try. Origins is not a brand I am familiar with as this is the first product I have tried from the company. Let me just say if all of Origins products are THIS good I would switch my skincare routine from Clinique to Origins in a heartbeat. I'm in LOVE with this moisturizer! I was using Estee Lauder Time Zone Moisturizer, but found it too heavy for my skin. This moisturizer is perfect for the AM since it is lightweight, makes my skin comfortable, and has an SPF of 15!
"This energizing, multi-tasking moisturizer gives skin instant vitality & vibrance with the zing of vitamin rich Mangosteen Energy Complex. Magically transforms, protects and perfects to create even, flawless skin. SPF 15. Oil-free."
Ingredients (click to enlarge)
- Propylene Glycol
- Mineral Oil
- Synthetic Fragrance
- Animal Ingredients
This is NOT a "tinted moisturizer" in the classic sense. It is white, goes on clear and then matches my skin tone. I'd say it is an "in-between" to a full out tinted moisturizer and a regular moisturizer because it gives you a sunkissed "glow" without being as "tinted" as "tinted moisturizers" typically are. You can tell from the before and after that my skin looks more even (less redness in the cheeks), and I have a radiance/glow! It's hard to describe exactly what this does to my skin, but it really makes it look flawless! I can't get rid of my freckles, but as far as perfect skin goes, this does the trick for me!
It is safe to say that this is my HG moisturizer! I can't imagine finding anything better than this. It costs $35 US for a 50ml tube, but is well worth every penny in my opinion. I ordered this online and it was shipped VERY fast! A little goes a long way!

I just did a review on Scott Barnes for Motives Cosmetics "The Present" (click here to view) and I wanted to share with you a simple, everyday look I did using some of the products which came in the cube. I also included an OOTD because I threw on my makeup before grabbing a quick bite to eat with some friends last week. Hope you enjoy!

"Scott Barnes is a celebrated celebrity makeup artist and is the master behind such iconic faces such as Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion, Hllary Duff and many more. Scott is teaming up with Loren and Motives® Cosmetics to bring you new and exclusive beauty care products that will be one-of-a-kind must haves.
Introducing The Present for Motives®. A perfect combination of 4 eye shadows, 4 lip gloss, 4 concealer, 2 blush, and 1 translucent pressed powder all in one perfect posh package. Available in two sets of shade palettes, Golden Goddess and Smokey Nights. The perfect gift for anyone, especially you!"
Quality: I was really impressed with the quality of all of the sections. The eyeshadows, blush and bronzer are pigmented and have great blendability (they are VERY easy to work with and doesn't take much effort at all to blend all the colours). I would prefer a different shade than the green that came with the eyeshadows, but that is just a personal preference. My favourite shade of eyeshadow is the pale beige shadow which goes on matte and is THE PERFECT all over lid/brow highlight colour. I've been using that particular eyeshadow daily! The lipsticks are very thick and creamy and stay on the lips for a long time. The concealers remind me of MAC Studio Finish Concealer, but are a tad more slippery, offer a little less coverage, but blend a lot easier. It would have been even better if they offered a green corrector! The blush gives me a touch of pink and gives the perfect glow (there is very light shimmer). The bronzer is a tad orange for my liking, but nonetheless works perfectly with a light hand. Last, but not least, is the translucent powder. I think my favourite thing in this whole set is this translucent powder! Unlike my Ben Nye Neutral Set, this powder is pressed. The powder does not lighten my skin and sets my foundation perfectly. I find my skin looks more even when I use this and very natural! This is another item I've been using EVERY day! I have several FOTDs which I will be posting in the coming weeks where I've been using various sections of this product!
Value: For $39.95 you can't go wrong. You get so much product in each section and the quality is AMAZING! I'm so glad I picked this up since it has become a staple in my everyday makeup application!
I picked up one of the Revlon Scented nail polishes in my recent drugstore haul because I was interested in the concept of a "scented" nail polish. Initially, I imagined a scented nail polish would just give me a headache because I've very sensitive when it comes to smells. However, when dry, this polish wasn't nearly as strong in fruity scent as I thought it would be. Actually, after a day of wear I could barely notice the scent at all. As you may have guessed, "Sublime Strawberry" has a strawberry scent. It is a mid-tone pink with micro glitters. I didn't use a top coat over top as I wanted to see how long the polish itself would wear and figured a top coat would mask the scent of the polish. The polish itself wore for 4-5 days with no nicks or chips. The tips of my nails were started to wear a bit from use, but that happens with all my polishes because I'm very "hands on" at work. I recommend 2-3 coats with this polish as 1 coat is very sheer. I probably wouldn't repurchase as scented nail polishes aren't really my thing. I could see myself liking this polish more when I was a young teen.

I picked up a bunch of new drugstore products that I thought would be fun to test out and review for you over the next couple weeks. I'm currently in the works of writing a "Favourite Drugstore Products" post that will probably be a small novel at the rate I'm going...LOL
Wet N' Wild Fast Dry Nail Color in #237C "Gray's Anatomy"
Revlon Scented Nail Enamel in #305 "Sublime Strawberry"
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in #225 "Caramel Kiss"
(I saw a swatch of this on Temptalia (click here to see) and had to buy it...it shows up darker on my lips.
With this said, I think it is about time I invest in some MAC Lip Erase as my lips are fairly pigmented)
Wet N' Wild Color Icon Trio in #383B "Knock On Wood"
Cover Girl Eye Enhancers in #235 "Pure Romance"
Hard Candy Glow All The Way Tropical Tan Instant Bronze & Gradual Self Tanner infused with 24 Karat Gold
(I'm really looking forward to trying this product. I will give a full review in a week or two)
Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub

I haven't posted a clothes haul in a while and thought now would be the perfect time since I picked up a few cute things shopping this past week.
It has a very open neck line and a 3/4 length sleeve. It's really baggy and I love how it drapes off the shoulders.
I ♥ Marilyn in case you didn't already know ;)
I've been wanting a brown leather jacket for quite some time now.
Probably my favourite item I picked up!
My best friend has the same shirt and I wanted it as soon as I saw it.
The pockets stick out a little bit which make them appear shorter than they really are.
It wraps around and hangs off the wrist.
