Hey Guys!
As you know, my Holy Grail eye pencil is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in "Zero". This statement held true until Urban Decay came out with an even darker black called "Perversion". Why would I want the "blackish" black when I can have the"blackest" black?! This holds true to mascara as well. Mascara typically comes in "Black" and "Blackest Black" or some "Super-Dark-Ultra-Black" variety. I don't understand this. Why have two black mascaras?! Who would buy the black mascara that isn't as black as it's sister mascara? All I think in my head is "Ya, I want the black mascara that isn't as good as the other". Seriously?! Come on. True, "Zero" is a lighter black and could create a softer effect, but why need two black eye pencils from the same company? I don't want to worry about going into a store, picking up a new eye pencil and making sure it's the "Blackest-of-all-Blacks" and not the "I'm-Actually-The-Crappier Black" before I buy it. I already have to deal with this situation with mascara, please don't confuse me with eye liner as well. Companies, if you are reading this, simply make one black that is well, BLACK, throw out the other imitators and lets call it a day. I'm sure many of you reading this feel the same way.
Enough of my rant, onto the product information and review.
About the Product
"Creamy, forever-lasting, award-winning and waterproof, 24/7 pencils delight you with lush tropical hues, deep metallics, and unusually vibrant neutrals." - UrbanDecay.com
"The best Eye Pencil ever, ever, ever! Never before has a pencil this creamy and brilliant been waterproof, too. Velvety-soft, this never-before-seen formula stays soft and creamy for blending (about 30 seconds), then dries down to a long-lasting finish that WILL NOT budge. Line eyes with a hint of colour or go for the full artistic, multi-hued effect with the wide selection of lush tropical hues, deep metallics and unusually vibrant neutrals. Incredible with Urban Decay Eyeshadows!"
Created with 50% moisturizing ingredients suspended in a sophisticated waterproof formula, 24/7 Eye Pencils offer long-lasting colour and a dreamy, creamy feel when applied. With Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E and Cottonseed Oil.
Tips: 24/7 Pencils are ideal for lining inner lids because the waterproof formula stays put. Just apply, try not to blink for a sec, and you've got immovable liner.

Wow...! Wonderful tips.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWow I'm going to have to pick this up, it's such a deep, dark black- love it.
ReplyDeleteYou'll love it!
DeleteI can't believe how opaque it is. When my MUFE Aqua Eyes runs out, I'll probably be picking this up! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou will love it!
DeleteI love these! I collected every color <3
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous lol
DeleteI have these aswell and theyre brilliant. I have recently fallen in love with the NYX slide on eyeliner pencils....same pigmentation and glide on perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI gotta check those out...much more affordable! Thanks for the tip!
DeleteThanks for this post. I need Perversion.
ReplyDeleteNo prob :)
DeleteI have been wanting this but have been holding off for some reason, but you have convinced that I need it! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is a must! Glad I convinced you :)
DeleteI was hoping someone would do a comparison! I love how dark the new one is and I need is asap! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI was looking for a good comparison myself and thought I would post one. Glad it helped!
DeleteFirst of all this totally made me laugh - I feel the exact same way! "Soft Black?!" No thank you! Haha, why do they do that? I'm so glad to see this as I've been contemplating Zero but now see Perversion is more what I want. I'm looking for something to use in the waterline - you really think this will hold up? I'm sick of the smudging!!!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing I have found for the waterline is NARS Larger Than Life Eye Pencils....they are phenomenal for the waterline!
DeleteHi Cheryl, I need your advice! I am contemplating between NARS Larger Than Life and Lise Watier.. Which one is more smudge proof? Unfortunately, Urban Decay 24/7 is a no go for me and I am using MUFE, but looking for better alternative..
DeletePersonally, I love blackest black liner - the darker the better! But I'm also a brunette with a medium skin tone. When I do makeup on my fairest, blondest friends, the dark black that I love is super dramatic on them. It looks great for a night out, or when you're looking for a dramatic look, but for an everyday eye pencil it's just too much. They need a black that's a bit softer, without having to go for a brown pencil. Anyways, that's just my two cents, but totally agree that I love dark black pencil!
ReplyDeleteVery true! Sometimes I just smudge a lighter shade of eyeshadow into black eyeliner to lighten it a bit... but the convenience of several shades of black would be better for those who don't want to use a shadow.
DeleteOhhh my goodness I'm so glad I found this review! I also had used Zero and LOVED the formula but just didn't think it was black enough!!! Perversion looks PERFECT! I've gotta get it!
ReplyDeleteI had the same issue. Wished Zero was darker and now there is Perversion! Yayy
DeleteI am an UD fangirl to the max, and a total makeup whore. This post was so useful to me so thank you very much Cheryl! ^___^ I already have Zero from about 1-2 yrs ago (yup, time to get a new one, I know) but I ended up getting perversion liquid eyeliner. It's awesome except for when I've had caffeine and my hand is so shaky, and then I mess it up putting it on and I need to redo a lot to make it right, so maybe having the pencil version of perversion might be best.
ReplyDeleteI have been using zero for a year now, but this time I picked perversion, but every time I use perversion my eyes start watering....please help
ReplyDeleteI just purchased this a week ago from ULTA and I'm not happy at all. I used to buy it all the time when I had a stable job it was good, so yeah bought it a week ago and this liner sucks for some reason. It ran into the corner of my eyeshadow. I yawn a lot and it never used to do that. Now i feel like its a knock off or something. Someone tell me this happened to them too..I'm very disappointed, I mean I would long for it and now that I got it it sucks and I regret I bought it and irritated I'm going to have to exchange it for something else.
